In memory of Géza Fülöp (1931-2021)
Abstract
Dr. Géza Fülöp, a chemist and information specialist, became known as one of the most educated theoretical experts of Transylvanian intelligentsia and Hungarian librarianship. He was an eminent member of professional public life in Hungary: his visions are preserved in conference materials and journal articles. He was interested first of all in issues of information technology; his first work on the subject was published as early as 1973 in Cluj-Napoca (under the title Man and information). His main work, The information, was published in Budapest in 1990, with a revised, extended version published in 1996 as a university textbook. Two short recollections pay homage to the professional work and human excellence of Géza Fülöp, the respected and beloved author of our journal Library Review.
